  • New Business:
a.       Request to change policy for “No Fishing Policy” in kayak launch dock and peninsula
The request to change the policy is withdrawn.  Fishing is allowed on the south side of the peninsula fence into the lake, but not on the east fencing into the kayak launch area.  Shane Reeside, Richard Huhn and Peter Waldmeir have created a map for seasonal and year round fishing areas.  Highlighted green is all year fishing areas, while highlighted yellow is seasonal fishing areas.  This map will be available to the public.  The peninsula area is also being updated with fencing along the peninsula up to the concrete ramp, as well as fencing around the bubbler system pumps.  This policy will be put into effect for the next year, and may be reviewed after the year.
Concerns presented by Myron and Ulli Sherer:  This is not a compromise.  Children fish in areas where they shouldn’t, are told no, and turn back around and still fish.
The Pier Park Staff will be more diligent regarding fishing and the map will help enforce this rule.  A written fishing policy will be done and the Parks and Harbor Committee agrees this is a good compromise.

b.      Establishment of a use policy for Kerby Field
The Little League has contributed substantial financial support towards improvements and upkeep to Kerby Field.  The President of Little League, Mark Davey, would like a written policy and a permit with rental fees created to accommodate others who would like to use the fields.  The policy draft will be written and presented to the Parks and Harbor Committee Meeting for review early 2017.
