If you are interested in having a tree planted on the boulevard (area between sidewalk and curb), you must have your request in writing, by October 1st, to the Public Service Department, 90 Kerby Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236. The decision to plant a requested tree will be made at the discretion of the Public Services Director.

Below is a list of trees the City may consider planting. This list is subject to change.

• Brandywine Maple
• European Beech
• Freeman Maple (Autumn Blaze)
• Japanese Zelkova
• Katsura 
• Little Leaf Linden
• Persian Ironwood
• Pyramidal Hornbeam (male variety)
• Skyline Honey Locust
• Sugar Maple

Please be advised that the City will not plant the following trees: Ash, Birch, Elm, Evergreen, fruit bearing, shrubs or Willow trees.
